airport rotating beacon

airport rotating beacon
An aeronautical ground light visible at all azimuths, either continuously or intermittently, to designate a particular point on the surface of the earth. At civil airports, alternate white and green flashes indicate the location of the airport. Military airports employ dual-peaked (two quick) white flashes between the green flashes. Also called aeronautical beacon.
